In the event of a weather-related or other emergency, Finneytown Local School District officials do their best to make timely decisions regarding school closings, delayed openings or early dismissals. Once decisions have been made, it is our goal to clearly communicate any changes in school or office schedules to parents and staff as soon as possible.
Under ideal circumstances, decisions about closings/delayed openings are made by 6 a.m. on the day of the event. Decisions on early dismissals are ideally made no later than 10 a.m. on the day of the event. In some cases, such as when a rapid or unexpected deterioration of the weather takes place, it may be necessary to make decisions about closings, delays, or early dismissals at other times.
This is our standard plan when inclement weather occurs prior to the start of the school day.
