Scholarship Updates
 
PLEASE NOTE: Some of the scholarships listed below have websites to apply. For all other scholarships, the Counseling Office will have paper copies available (see Mrs. Hudson). Please keep this sheet as a reference for due dates and websites. The due date listed on this form is the date that it is due with the organization offering the scholarship. Your request for any transcripts that are to be submitted with an application for a scholarship should be submitted at least one week prior to the due date to allow for mailing. Please remember to bring an envelope with postage. If any additional scholarship offerings are received, we will compile them for a hand-out to all Seniors. Also, we will post additional scholarship information on the board outside the Counseling Office as it becomes available. This information will also appear on the district web page, www.finneytown.org. Best Buy Scholarship – rewards students with February 15, 2007 Good grades who give back to their communities. See www.BestBuy.com/scholarships OACRAO Leadership and Service February 20, 2007 $500 award to students with a 2.75 (4.00) scale. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, submit a personal statement, and list of leadership and service activities. Cincinnati Chapter of the Ohio Credit Union League March 1, 2007 $1,000 Award. Student must be a member of a credit union in Hamilton, Adams, Clermont or Brown County and that credit union must be an affiliate of the Ohio Credit Union League. Must plan to participate in post-secondary studies, including professional, vocational and academic studies that are not limited to colleges and universities. Ohio PTA March 1, 2007 $500 for students entering a four year College program; $500 for student entering a two year program and $500 for Special Needs students. Sammy 2007 Scholar Athlete Award March 9, 2007 Judging will be based on academic performance, athletic Excellence, leadership, community service and milk experience (Got Milk?) . Applications accepted at the website www.bodybymilk.com Hamilton County PTA March 9, 2007 $500.00 Award based on character, personality, scholastic record and financial need Debbie Moore Memorial Scholarship March 10, 2007 $500 - Applicants must have experience with horses, be of good character, demonstrate concern for their community, show seriousness of purpose Catholic Women of Cincinnati - $1,500 grant for the March 11, 2007 Freshman year at an accredited two or four year program Applicant must be a Catholic student in the top ½ of the class. Must have financial need. Active in school, family, parish and Community. Two applicants per school may apply. Enterprise Rent-A-Car - $1,000 award for a senior with a March 16, 2007 minimum 3.0 GPA and a proven contributor in the community/volunteerism and has demonstrated leadership in other clubs/activities The Woman’s City Club of Greater Cincinnati March 23, 2007 $500 Award based on an essay “What do you believe to be the most urgent problem in our community?” Collegiate Scholars Scholarship – 2.5 gpa. Committee March 23, 2007 will look at creative ability, community involvement, obstacles overcome, character, life goals, athletic achievement or demonstrated leaderships DaVinci University Club April 2, 2007 $1,000 Award to a student of Italian descent. Must attend a college in the greater Cincinnati area. William D. Squires Scholarship April 5, 2007 Award of $3,000 (renewable) to students based on financial need and a minimum GPA of 3.20 on a 4.00 scale. Applications on the website at http://www.wmd-squires-foundation.org Vietnam Veterans of America April 6, 2007 Veteran family members attending college Full/part time, 2.0/4.0 GPA, based on community involvement, financial need, character and academic achievement The Winners Club Scholarship April 15, 2007 $1,500 scholarship to student who is interested in a career in education. Must have a GPA of 3.50 or better, attend a State-supported College or University, and must demonstrate need. CSF handles scholarships for many local companies and foundations.
