Whitaker Elementary now stands on the site of the first one-room frame schoolhouse in Finneytown dating back to the early 1850's.
 
Named after Telford Whitaker , who came to Finneytown in the 1930's as a teacher and acting principal, the school is the home of all of the district's students in grades 5 & 6.
 
The focus is on a developmentally responsive environment that includes a challenging curriculum that is both integrative and exploratory.
