CHL XC Camp is Sucessful Once Again!

Posted on: June 27, 2016

The 7th annual CHL XC camp was a huge success again this year. Runners from 10 different schools participated.  Amazing workouts, speakers, and team bonding!  Next year’s camp will be at Wyoming High School.

At our camp race, we had a 7th grade girl, Jessica Sanders from Finneytown, race up to the High School 2 mile race and won.  Allie Helmes, an 8th grader from Finneytown also raced up and finished 2nd.  McKenzie Jones decided to run in the boys high school race and finished well.  Maria Seith, an 8th grade girl from Finneytown won the Middle School Girls 1 mile race.

One of the highlights of this year’s camp was taking our runners to the Oasis Summer Camp for Finneytown children at Whitaker.  A great opportunity for XC runners to give back to the community!

Now, on to voluntary cross country conditioning this summer!

Our High School team captains (Julia Brueggemeyer, Joel Steimle, and McKenzie Jones) are meeting every weekday at 9:30 AM at the circle in front of Finneytown to run.  Come on out and run and enjoy being active!
