Welcome to Brent Elementary!

Nancy Rouse named Finneytown's Educator of the Year: "She's a superstar in a school filled with superheroes."

Overseeing exemplary counseling programs, organizing World Culture Night, initiating Staff Wellness Week, supporting students and staff and connecting with families -- Finneytown native Nancy Rouse was a natural fit for Hamilton County's top public-school honor.

A surprise announcement, and a hug from Dad.

Virtually nothing goes on at Brent Elementary without Mrs. Rouse's involvement and support. She oversees the PBIS program, partners with community organizations and parents to obtain grants and other funding, and is a liaison and supporter of Fernside Grief Support, Student of the Week/PAW Pride, Mindful Music Moments and Beech Acres support services. "Mrs. Rouse is a professional in every sense of the word," her principal, John Mattingly, said. "She is discreet, calm under pressure, inclusive, kind, resourceful, insightful and positive."

As a colleague told Mrs. Rouse as she pulled her aside for a hug, "You take care of our children every hour of every day."
