Dear Brent Families,

Happy Thursday!  This was a very busy week at Brent Elementary School as we had Fire Safety Week.  We thank the Springfield Fire Department for their visit and for keeping our community safe.  They are our Superheroes!  Ask your child what they learned from them!

Tomorrow will be a very busy day at school. Please see the schedule of events in The Brent Beat.  As a reminder for families coming to Brent Elementary on Friday, we ask that you sign-in in the office, and put on a RED Visitor’s Sticker.  Any adult that is visiting our building must wear a Visitor’s Sticker.  This is for the safety and security of our students.  Mrs. Falhaber will make an announcement at 2:30 PM reminding families taking their children home before the end of the day that they must sign them out in the office, as well.  Thank you for your diligence!

Fall Conference Letters for 1st and 2nd grade went home in today’s Thursday Folders.  Conferences are held on November 12th and 19th.  Kindergarten Conference Letters will be going home in next Thursday’s Folders.  Kindergarten will also be holding 1 daytime conference day, along with the November 12th and 19th night conferences.  Your child’s kindergarten teacher will communicate more specifics in regard to the specific day.

Box Tops- Thank you to each classroom and to all participating Brent Families. The winning class was Miss Schill’s class with 559 Box Tops!  They will receive a donut or ice cream party.  Mrs. Zerkle’s class was a close second place with 538 box tops and Ms. Adamson’s morning kindergarten class had 360 box tops and came in third (this is a correction different than what is in The Brent Beat!).  Mrs. Jarmon-Thomas’s class was close in fourth place with 354 box tops.  We were able to collect 10,655 box tops for Brent and Whitaker which will raise $1,065!

Kindergarten Parents- Please see the parent survey in today's purple Thursday Folder.  A copy is also attached at the link below.  Thank you for your input!

Please see the link for The Brent Beat below, as well.  Have a safe weekend.

Sincerely,

John Mattingly
