POLAR EXPRESS DAY AT BRENT!

Wednesday, December 16th will be a school-wide pajama day celebrating The Polar Express!  We will have volunteer conductors come around to all the classrooms to punch tickets around 8:45am.  Students will bring their chairs out and sit in the hallway to "board the train."  Mr. Mattingly will have the honor of reading The Polar Express over the intercom at 9:00am.  Each grade level has various activities that they are scheduling that day.  Be on the lookout for more information in classroom newsletters and do not forget to wear those comfy PJ’s!

INCLEMENT WEATHER PLAN

Please see the attached letter from Superintendent Olverson addressing inclement weather.  As a reminder to our families, if there is a 2 Hour Delay called, there will be No AM Extended Care, No AM Kindergarten, and No AM Champions.  Please contact the Brent Office if you have any questions.

FINNEYTOWN PTA WildcatSERVE

BLOCK PROGRAM

We are looking forward to 2 Representatives from the NAWIC Education Foundation visiting our students during lunch rotations on Monday, December 14th.  They will be presenting an opportunity for our 1st and 2nd Graders to participate in The Block Program, a national building competition.  We are limited to 125 slots combined for Brent and Whitaker Students, so first come first serve.  It will be held on Saturday, January. 30th from 9:00am-12:00pm at Whitaker Elementary School.  Please see the attached flier below for more information and the registration form to participate.  Hard copies will be sent home in next week’s Thursday Folders.

MORNING CAR DROP-OFF MAP- REMINDERS

The safety and security of our students is our number 1 priority.  Thank you to all of our families for partnering with us in the safe daily arrival of our students.  Things are going very smoothly but as we approach the mid-year point I wanted to take the opportunity to communicate a map to our new families, providing a review for others, as well.  Please see the attached link for the Map below.  Like unloading a roller coaster, we would like 3-4 cars (depending on the size) to unload at a time, as well as having students exiting through the passenger side doors.  See highlighted and arrows.  We understand that there are special situations with car seats, etc.  No problem.  We can then motion the next 3-4 cars to move up and unload.  There are also areas highlighted on the map where families that choose to walk their children into school can park.  We appreciate how all of our families work to keep our students safe and are patient during the AM Car Drop-Off.  Thank you!!

MOBILE DENTIST VISITS BRENT FEBRUARY 8TH

We have invited Smile Programs, the mobile dentists, back to bring its on-site preventive dental care program to our school because we know how important good oral health is to our children’s overall general health.  Please see more information in the attached flier below which will come home in next week's Thursday Folders.
