Thank You, Band Teachers and Students!

Finneytown's rich musical tradition was alive and jumpin' on Dec. 15 when band students from Whitaker Elementary and Finneytown Secondary School performed at an end-of-semester concert. The Performing Arts Center was full, the crowd was enthusiastic and the reviews were unanimous -- another great night for the Finneytown music program!

All Aboard the Polar Express

Brent Elementary students wore their pajamas to school, arranged their chairs in long rows in the hallway and waited for a "conductor" to come by, punch their tickets and allow them to board the Polar Express.

Every so often an entire school district can be summed up in a single act, even a single photo. We love the spirit, warmth and whole-heartedness of our National Honor Society students -- who politely served the annual Senior Citizens Brunch then relished the chance to help themselves.

A Morning of Food, Music and Connecting the Generations

As it is every year, the Secondary School's Senior Citizens Brunch and Holiday Concert on Dec. 11 was a time of goodwill and true community. More than 40 seniors enjoyed delicious food and conversation with the National Honor Society members who served it, then moved on to the Performing Arts Center for extraordinary choral music.

Fill the Bus. . . with Toys

Leave it to cheerleaders to know how to fill the holiday season with cheer. For the third year, the Finneytown Sparkle Cats are hosting the Fill the Bus campaign to provide toys for patients at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and local families. Their goal: 2,000 toys!

New 'tip line' helps Ohio schools stay safe

The Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Department of Public Safety recently launched SaferOH, an anonymous tip line that allows callers to share information on potential threats to student safety.
