Congratulations to Barb Reichle, December Support Staff Member of the Month

Posted on: December 20, 2016

For the last 13 years, Barb Reichle has been an essential member of the Secondary Campus team as secretary to the school principal. This month her calm competence and great loyalty to Finneytown have earned her the December Support Staff Member of the Month award.

Barb moved to Finneytown in the fifth grade, graduated from Finneytown High School and lived in the community for 35 years. In addition to serving the district as the principal's secretary, she also spent eight years as a class advisor and 10 years as a community service advisor. She knows and helps students, staff members and parents alike.

Barb is married, the mother of two children who graduated from Finneytown and grandmother of four. Monday, the day she learned she had been named Support Staff Member of the Month, she was surprised by a visit from her son, Brandon Osborn. The Army Specialist was home on holiday leave from his first tour of duty in Kuwait. Brandon also served in Africa in 2015.

One of Barb's favorite memories from her career is from a Senior Retreat where students were asked to write notes of appreciation to classmates and staff members. "It was great to get notes from the students on how you've been a part of their school journey, and how you may have touched their lives," Barb remembers.

The memory Barb would like to leave behind is of her smile, and of always trying to do the right thing.

Congratulations, Barb -- and thanks.
