Finneytown Art Students Receiving Top Prizes and Recognition

Art in Root, a program sponsored by The Great Parks, presented accolades to four Finneytown High School students for their art pieces. Cameron Harris received the First Place award, Adam Albers received the Third Place award, Alyssa Hinton received an Honorable Mention, and Talia Ahlers received a Merit Award.

Additionally, Calvin Viola placed with a Gold Medal regionally, and a Silver Medal Nationally in the National Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, which is the country’s “most prestigious scholarship and recognition initiative for creative teens.” The awards are sponsored by The Alliance of Young Artists & Writers.

Maddie Robb, Natalie Oudomsouk, Layla Bonds, and Kay Nicht are receiving recognition for their visual art pieces through Youth Art Month/Young People’s Art Exhibition awards competition in Columbus Ohio, which is sponsored by the Ohio Art Education Association. The work was juried locally, and all four of student submissions were chosen to be displayed at the Rhodes State Office Tower and the State Teachers Retirement building in Columbus.
