Finneytown Students Rock the Scholastic Art Awards

Posted on: January 25, 2016

Sixteen Finneytown Secondary students won recognition in the prestigious Scholastic Art Awards with breathtakingly gorgeous art. Thought the ceramics piece, right, was from the Ming dynasty? It was made by senior Luke Brueggemeyer.

The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards is a major art competition, and Finneytown students compete in one of the nation's toughest regions with more than 5,000 pieces of art and 1,000 senior art portfolios submitted each year.

Congratulations to our 16 honorees and a special nod to our three Gold Award winners, whose work moves on to national competition in New York City!
