Finneytown Local Schools’ new facilities director, Jim Patrick, brings 17 years of experience overseeing the operations of a school district and decades more of managing construction and renovation projects.

At Edgewood City Schools in Trenton, Ohio, Patrick served as facilities director and director of business operations. The district hired him after seeing his work as construction manager for its $22 million renovation project. At Edgewood, he oversaw maintenance, transportation, food services and custodial services, dealing with contractors, vendors and state and local officials as well as school staff and community members. He took pride in establishing efficient systems to schedule and review maintenance and renovation projects, and also in knowing each of the district’s 450 employees.

At Finneytown, Patrick will employ the same blend of professional efficiency and personal interest. His initial focus will be on improvements in technology and continuing to work on facilities updates and on continual improvements to security.

“Our job is make sure the buildings are safe and secure, the buses transport the students, the grass is cut, the food is there – everything is there to make the school run,” Patrick said. “We want to make students comfortable because the more comfortable they are, the better they’ll do in school."
