Krista Ramsey Joins the Finneytown Staff

Posted on: August 17, 2015

Former Cincinnati Enquirer columnist and education reporter Krista Ramsey will be named Finneytown Local Schools’ Communications Director pending school board approval in September 2015.

In addition to the 16 years she spent in local journalism, Ramsey is a former high school teacher and also served as the public information officer for Sycamore Community Schools.  Finneytown Superintendent Tyrone Olverson said her hire is a continuation of the district’s efforts to strengthen communication and expand community engagement efforts and will help Finneytown take an even more visible role in regional efforts to advocate for public education.

Ramsey said her goal is to raise the district’s visibility and highlight the accomplishments of students and staff while continuing to emphasize transparency and responsiveness.  “Finneytown has a strong tradition of educational integrity and a reputation for taking learning out of the classroom and into the real world.  It was a pioneer in student service-learning and has always stressed both achievement and personal character.  I am excited to help maintain its strong ties to its community and to make it an even more obvious choice for families moving into the region,” Ramsey said.

The 1,458- student district, which covers 4.8-square-miles of Springfield Township, is known for its academic and fine arts offerings and its commitment to student service.
