New 'tip line' helps Ohio schools stay safe

Posted on: October 30, 2015

Finneytown students, parents and the community have another tool in continuing to keep our schools safe. The Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Department of Public Safety recently launched SaferOH, an anonymous tip line that allows callers to share information on potential threats to student safety.

Calls or texts to 844-SaferOH (844-723-3764) will be answered by Ohio Homeland Security staff. When appropriate, they'll immediately share information with local school and law enforcement officials. They'll also make sure that incidents are investigated and outcomes are tracked.

Staff members may ask for additional information, but every tip can remain anonymous.
