The Beautiful Art of Annalise Barber and Sarah Dennis

Posted on: April 14, 2016

Out of 11,500 applicants from across the state, 300 talented Ohio high school art students are invited to be part of the Ohio Governor's Youth Art Exhibition. Finneytown's Annalise Barber and Sarah Dennis are among them.

In addition to being among the 300 works exhibited, Annalise's extraordinary ceramic piece, Phantom, was one of just 25 works chosen for the Governor's Award of Excellence.

The competition draws students from Ohio's 1,112 public and private high schools. Judges come from across the country. More than 30 colleges and schools of art offer scholarships based on selection to exhibit in this show. The competition is rigorous; the quality is superb. Finneytown Secondary Campus is honored to have two winners.

The awards ceremony for the exhibition takes places Sunday, April 17, noon, the Riffe Center, Columbus. The exhibit opens the same day at 2 p.m. at the James A. Rhodes Office Tower, 30 E. Broad Street, Columbus, 43215. It remains open weekdays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., until May 19.
