Whitaker families take part in Linus Project

Posted on: January 30, 2017

For children facing tough times, security often comes in the form of a blanket. For the last five years, Whitaker Elementary families have helped supply blankets to kids in need as part of the Linus Project.

The Whitaker Service Club coordinates the effort, holding an annual workday where families come and make fleece blankets together. Whitaker teachers sometimes use the blankets as indoor-recess projects.

The 100 blankets Whitaker families and staff have produced over the last five years have been donated to Children's Hospital Medical Center and other hospitals, shelters and orphanages.
