Wise, insightful, supportive and kind, Secondary College and Career Counselor Carolyn Ottke-Moore sends Finneytown students on to lives of purpose and accomplishment. On Feb. 21, she was honored for her contributions.

Mrs. Ottke-Moore's nominators described her as a pioneer in using data to improve services to students, praised her for opening Finneytown Secondary Campus's new College and Career Center and applauded her continual efforts to locate resources for students in need. "She has been a humble hero to us all," one nominator wrote.

The award is presented by Career Quest, a division of IKRON Corporation, to honor and affirm the work of outstanding school counselors. Judges for the competition included school counselors from across Greater Cincinnati, along with college admissions counselors and community counselors.

Mrs. Ottke-Moore received the award during a special presentation at the Feb. 21 Board of Education meeting.
