Months of running in rain, heat, wind and mud are paying off for our dedicated Finneytown cross country teams, who brought home honors from recent CHL and All-City races. Read on for results. Also, the high school CC team needs a couple more runners for the district championship meet this Saturday!

The CHL middle school cross country champion!

Saturday, eighth grader Jessica Sanders earned the title of CHL middle school cross country champion for the second consecutive year. Joining her on the All-CHL middle school team were Abby Jeffries and Amy Helmes. Thanks to these great young women for bringing home these honors!

The middle school boys' team was the largest group competing this season, with Ben Page and Nathan Deuitch leading the pack.

In Saturday's high school meet, Joel Steimle set a season record and Brennan Jones and Wade Isphording set personal records. For the girls, Alli Helmes set a personal record, and Alexia Bonds had a strong race.

At Monday's middle school All-City Championships, the Finneytown girls placed sixth in the small schools division, and the boys' team placed 11th. Jessica Sanders again ran a strong race, finishing eighth in a field from much larger schools.

The cross country team needs one or two more runners for the district championship on Saturday. Contact Coach Rich Jones at 513-295-5818. Students would have to have a current physical on file to compete.
